Chris has always had a strong affinity with mules so the opportunity to join Muleskinner was too good to miss and now he can wear his fluffy pink high-heeled pair with pride.
Ê ÊWhile at school he joined two friends to form a band but, as the least accomplished guitarist, Chris was 'demoted' to the drum stool, where he’s stayed ever since.
Ê ÊChris made his bid for fame and fortune in the early 80’s with neo-rustic pagan boppers [sic] The Dancing Did, who had a single released on Stiff records before rejection by EMI, several more singles and an album on little known indie label Kamera, led, inevitably, to glorious obscurity!
Ê ÊAfter a long break he got the bug again around 1990, replied to an advert and joined Evesham based band The Bassetts (because they played all sorts) which morphed into the long running Worcester covers band The Disciples.
More recently he has played with Black Country bluesters Doctor's Orders and the now disbanded covers band Big Cats.
Ê ÊAs well as pounding the skins for the Mules Chris also knocks out 60's hits and rock'n'roll classics with The John Steeds and is the long standing house-band drummer at the weekly jam night at The Marr's Bar in Worcester.
Chris plays DW drums and Sabian HH & HHX cymbals, though how he does it in those high-heels I’ll never know.
